RELIGION
Can you imagine a society where people would be encouraged to when in early school, learn throughout one year ten different religions and then choose one.
Probably after that year they would come back and say that they are all very similar, talking of the same values and messages but through different codes and language, reflecting mostly from where they are coming from.
You would understand that religion is actually local culture.
Every region has its understanding of how society and their members should behave and religion was the way to make it functional. The connection to a divine is the most important one and mostly all say the same, with different symbology. The important message is that there is a common energy that connects us all, beings and all nature, univerasaly, and that we have to respect, celebrate and try to understand it
So if you look carefully, one is born in a society that has its values in civil and cosmic understanding and it-passes through education this values, to the new comer. Its a natural order to build a environment that everybody around you behaves in a common way. Actually belonging to one creed, in the enormous majority, is because you where brought up in a certain society, not a natural choice.
Humans need a sense of identification with there neighbours for comfort and protection. You will be very unhappy or excluded if you go around every day questioning the social rules of your local society, so if the law is so called divine, you will end up obeying without questioning making a more peaceful neighbourhood.
No god tell's anything to anybody about what to drink or eat, or what to dress. That is Man determined rules.
God is a concept of the universal force.
Believing in the concept of God is embracing the idea that there is a cosmic natural chaotic force that made and explains everything, and that we are part of it.
Believing in a religion, is believing the above, even if through different words, and accepting that your behaviour as a social being is dictated by man who wrote the religion and there rules.
